Produced by the experienced lighting manufacturer Fomex, the Fomex FL-600 Ready to Shoot Package is based on a flexible LED light mat. This has been specifically designed for use by filmmakers & stills photographers.  It combines low weight, thin design and 360° pliability into an LED lighting fixture. This permits previously impossible mounting, positioning and operation. The LED mats can be fixed directly to walls, windows or virtually any surface curved or otherwise.

The top and bottom edges of the mat incorporate durable wire tubing. Once the mat has been flexed it remains in the desired shape.  Its bendable and compact design allows it to be easily concealed in tight spaces on-set, whilst also making storage and travel a breeze.

The included X-Mount also allows the mats to emulate a regular rigid lighting fixture. It incorporates a 16mm female spigot for mounting on light stands or other lighting grip. With the FL-600 weighing just 387g, the optional boom pole enables fast and efficient overhead lighting without the need for a large and cumbersome lighting rig.

Weather Protected.

The  light mat of the Fomex FL-600 Ready to Shoot Package has been designed for all-weather use, with an IP64 rain and dust protection rating. This makes the light equally at home in a studio or  on location, regardless of weather or environment. For location use, it opens up possibilities to shoot in the rain, in a desert or in humid conditions.

Water and dust resilience also makes maintenance easier. The mats can simply be wiped down with a wet cloth when required.

Ultimate Control.

With a colour temperature range of 3200°K to 5600°K and precise dimming from 1 to 100%, the FL-600 is as flexible in operation as it is in form.

Settings are adjusted using the simple and intuitive lighting controller. It has a backlit LCD panel to display the current colour temperature and brightness values. Changes are made using the dials on either side. To avoid accidental adjustment or damage, these dials are protected with metal surrounds.

On the  rear  of the controller is a V-Mount battery plate which can be used for powering the light if AC power is not available. As an alternative to  V-Mount batteries, FL-4in1-SLVA battery adaptor offers an alternative power solution. It uses NPF type batteries to replicate a regular V-Mount battery.

The included adaptor shoe allows the controller to dock directly to a regular SuperClamp. The SuperClamp can be attached to a lighting stand, ensuring the controller is accessible to make quick setting adjustments.

When used on the move, the controller can be held on the operators shoulder with the built-in strap attachment point.

Accurate & Powerful.

The FL-600 has impressive physical characteristics that are backed-up by equally-notable photometric data. Colour rendering test results of CRI 96 and TLCI 98 ensure the light output virtually mimics that of natural light sources. This ensures colour reproduction is true-to-life, making post-production and colour grading more straightforward.

In spite of its slight nature, the FL-600 can match traditional x1 panels for power, delivering a light output of 2100 LUX at 1 meter.

Often with lights of this power, overheating can become a major issue. Despite its remarkably thin, lightweight and flexible design  Fomex have incorporated an effective heat dispersion method. Even after hours of continuous operation, the LEDs will always be cool enough to touch.

Ready-to-Shoot.

For absolute simplicity, Fomex offer a single, ready-to-shoot kit which is professionally presented in a bespoke carry bag. The Fomex FL-600 Ready to Shoot Package includes everything necessary to get shooting including the LED mat, X-Mount, controller, AC power supply, UK IEC cable and 5m controller extension cable.

Optional accessories include a softbox (FL-600-SB), 4-leaf barndoors (FL-600-BD), 3-section boom pole (FL-BP), mounting cheese plate (FL-CP) and cheese plate with ball head combo (FL-CPBH).
