About the Canon EOS C100 Camera

The Canon EOS C100 Camera with DAF Installed and EF-S 18-135 Lens is an affordable video production camera offering a unique combination of professional HD imaging, compact design and lens versatility, the user-friendly C100 is ideally configured for single person use.

The C100 fuses Canon's proven video technology and lens heritage with the creativity of the Cinema EOS System. As an EF mount camera the EOS C100 accepts Canon's EF and EF-S lenses for DSLRs, plus the EF mount Cinema Lenses to provide videographers with a wide choice of creative shooting options.

8.3MP Super 35mm CMOS sensor; Full HD

An 8.3MP Super 35mm CMOS sensor, designed and manufactured by Canon specifically for video capture, provides 3ch RGB processing for Full HD recording. It delivers superb high-resolution images with high sensitivity, low noise, reduced rolling shutter artefacts and beautifully shallow depth of field.

High sensitivity, low noise

Enhanced sensitivity, low noise images can be captured at up to ISO 20000, allowing use in almost any shooting situation.

24Mbps MPEG-4 AVCHD to SD cards

Record MPEG-4 AVCHD/H.264 files at 24Mbps (4:2:0) to two SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards  with relay and simultaneous recording options. Outputs include HDMI with lock function, AV and USB.

Canon Log Gamma

Built-in Canon Log Gamma gives neutral image quality with 12-stops of latitude (800% dynamic range) at a base setting of ISO 850. A Wide Dynamic Range option delivers footage with the same wide latitude but does not require grading.

Interchangeable EF lenses

Expand your creative options through a huge range of interchangeable lenses. The EF mount is compatible with Canon 4K EF Cinema lenses plus over 60 EF lenses including Macro and Fish Eye. The 3 manual built-in ND filters increase shooting versatility.

Compact, modular, lightweight

Ultra-compact and lightweight, the EOS C100 is ideal for use in tight spaces. A basic recording set up weighs just 1020g (without lens), while a removable grip, handle and multi-angle control panel ensure maximum manoeuvrability. The robust, splash resistant body features magnesium alloy components for extra rigidity and toughness.

Automated shooting

To facilitate one-person operation, automated functions include One-Shot Auto Focus, Push Auto Iris and Auto White Balance. Full manual control is available when required with a powerful Focus Assist function to aid manual focusing and ensure sharp detailed images.

Professional audio

Professional audio recording options include LPCM or Dolby AC3. The top handle includes two XLR inputs and stereo microphone.

Seamless workflow integration

Broad NLE support allows easy integration into existing post-production workflows.

CPS support

The Canon EOS C100 Camera qualifies for free support from Canon Professional Services (CPS) with exclusive access to a range of benefits: CPS support at major events, a priority repair service (subject to availability) and local CPS support in selected European countries.

Upgrade Information

Making it easier for single shooters to capture outstanding moving images was part of the core design philosophy for the Canon EOS C100 Camera. DAF further enhances creative freedom by providing greater accuracy and control of focus when shooting,  a crucial factor given the shallow depth of field made possible by the combination of fast glass and a large image sensor. Continuous autofocus is supported by all Canon EF lenses, whilst the existing One-shot AF function becomes approximately twice as fast with any of the 104 supported lenses.

Upgraded Performance

Dual Pixel CMOS AF is a sensor-based, phase detection Auto Focus (AF) technology designed to support video shooting, and a compatible CMOS sensor was included in the original design of the EOS C100. Following further technical development since launch, the camera can now be upgraded to offer users enhanced functionality and added value.

While the underlying Dual Pixel CMOS AF sensor technology in the EOS C100 is similar to that found in the Canon EOS 70D digital SLR, it has been adapted to fit the capabilities of the EOS C100. It has been optimised specifically for video shooting, and provides fast, natural focussing in a familiar visual style. As such, capturing a subject and retaining sharp focus, even when moving, has never been easier.

Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Standard Zoom

Designed to exceed expectations and ideal for video and still images alike, the new EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM marks a new standard for EF-S lenses. It features a refined Image Stabilization system that delivers up to four equivalent stops of shake correction throughout the zoom range; and offers a maximum magnification of 0.28x at the telephoto end, while remaining even more compact in size. This EF-S lens supports the Canon EOS Rebel T4i DSLR's Movie Servo AF feature for smooth and quiet continuous AF during movie shooting by utilizing a new six-group zoom system and the adoption of a stepping motor and focus mechanism. High-speed autofocus is achieved thanks to an Inner focusing system, high-speed CPU, and optimized AF algorithm. Appearing for the first time in a Canon lens is Dynamic IS (Movie Shooting Mode only) that uses a wide image stabilization correction range to help ensure steady video while shooting when walking.

Whether shooting movies or stills, the Canon EOS C100 Camera image quality is phenomenal, with one UD and one PMo aspheric lens providing high resolution and high contrast images with reduced chromatic aberration throughout the zoom range. A 7 blade, circular aperture ensures beautiful, soft backgrounds and optimized lens coatings ensure excellent color with minimized ghosting and flare. A zoom ring lock even prevents the lens from accidental extending.
