Stunning 2K and 4K RAW HFR images

Customers who purchase the version 3.0 firmware and HXR-IFR5 interface adaptor will benefit from the ability to record 2K and 4K RAW high frame rate images, producing stunning image quality and enabling maximum image manipulation flexibility in post production. The upgrades allow the NEX-FS700E to capture 4K RAW at HFR of 100 frames per second (fps) or 120 fps for approximately 4 seconds, and 2K RAW at 100 fps, 120 fps, 200 fps or 240 fps continuous recording.

Version 3.0 firmware also delivers benefits to customers working in HD by adding extra gamma curves in the PictureProfile function – 709 (800%) and S-Log2 – delivering greater creative flexibility, whatever resolution you work with.

You can purchase the version 3.0 firmware upgrade on its own in order to make use of third-party recording options, or to take advantage of the extra features, such as S-Log2. How to upgrade your camcorder

Version 3.0 firmware will need to be uploaded by a trained service technician. Please call Sony’s PrimeSupport. Country specific numbers listed here. If you own both the NEX-FS700E/EK and HXR-IFR5, please tell this to the helpdesk operator in order to claim your complimentary upgrade. You will need to provide both product serial numbers as proof of eligibility.
