"They get a thumbs up from me!"

It was a great show to work on and a great chance to test some kit from Top-Teks. We had a lot of kit on the job. In addition to an impressive lighting list from my Gaffer, I had the Teklight1 1x1 Flexible LED and its bigger brother the Teklight3 3x1 LED. It was a chance to see it working side by side with some of its (more expensive) rivals. They are well thought out bits of kit that come as a pretty comprehensive unit. No need to look at an accessories list. In the bag is the lamp, frame, soft box, egg crate, control unit with V-lock plates and  an extension cable. The light is soft and flattering but has enough punch for most jobs you will want to use them on. The 1x1 could be a great addition to a Lighting Cameraman’s kit, especially if you are carrying it or putting it on a plane. The Production Manager will be happy you saved some excess baggage fees! They are lightweight but do not feel plastic and cheap. The 3x1 has a reassuring metal knuckle to affix the lamp to a stand. I liked the 3x1 because of its wrap around abilities on smaller shoots or interview set-ups. They get a thumbs up from me!
