Sony PMW-F5 / F55 V1.21 & 1.22 Firmware Update

PMW-F55/F5 Firmware Version V1.21 Release note August 20th, 2013 This document explains about firmware update of PMW-F55/F5 V1.20 to V1.21. The latest firmware version of related products is below. Attention: When you directly update F55 and F5 to V1.21 from V1.15 and earlier, you must do "All Reset" in System menu. Otherwise V1.21 software becomes unstable. If you want to maintain menu setting before update, please save "All File" in File menu and load it after updating. If you had already updated F55 and F5 to V1.20 and did "All Reset", you don’t need to do "All Reset" again. <<Modification from V1.20 to V1.21>> <Functional Improvement> 1. Change setting menu of connected Remote Control Unit In previous firmware version, ISO and Gain setting value is changed even if "RM Common Memory" on Maintenance Menu is "On". We changed it only when "Gain Mode" on Camera Menu is "dB". Depends on the status of "RM Common Memory" on Maintenance Menu and "Gain Mode" on Camera Menu, F55 and F5 works below when the Remote Control Unit is connected and disconnected. Changed point at this firmware is Red-colored. Improve a connecting attestation for Remote Control Units We improved time of an initial connecting attestation when connecting Remote Control Units. 3. Other Improvements We fixed an issue that F55 and F5 cannot read "Clip Naming" menu setting from "All File" in SD card occasionally. When you update and use F55/F5 with AXR-R5, you must update R5 to V1,21 simultaneously. Attention: When you directly update F55 and F5 to V1.22 from V1.15 and earlier, you must do "All Reset" in System menu. Otherwise V1.22 software becomes unstable. If you want to maintain menu setting before update, please save "All File" in File menu and load it after updating. Bug fix: improve SStP recording mode We fixed a bug that F55 and F5 rarely doesn’t record SStP file correctly and it causes 1 frame dropping when SR viewer or 3rd venders’ NLE tools play back the file.
