Ice Light Review - Roger Laxon, Flying Fern Films

I recently bought an Ice light and after one day using it I bought 3 more. I have been shooting lots of 'natural look' interview set ups and car driving shots lately and these have already paid for themselves. I was like many a massive fan of the light panel and still am but these are now my preferred light of choice for most applications. You can hang them anywhere, they are light weight and have a good punch. So much so that I tend to dim them most of the time, which is another very important feature. I used to try and hang litepanels everywhere but once they had a battery on them they were getting pretty heavy. These will sit above a door frame or book shelf, I even cable tied two of them to a light fitting above a kitchen table. Battery life is good for most applications but for longer interviews I would plug them in. If I was building a lighting kit now these would definitely be in it. You can get four of them for about the price of one light panel. Bring on the BiColour version!
