CES 2020: Products We Liked
CES 2020 took place at the Las Vegas Convention Centre last week and saw a plethora of innovative products displayed. If you were there, you got to see everything from personal robots to fit-bits for pets. Some useful inventions, some a little questionable. We decided to choose our favourite products unveiled at CES and share them in this week's blog!
Sony Vision-S car with time-of-flight cameras
Sony decided to surprise the audience at CES with a new concept car that will feature time-of-flight sensors. Even though we didn’t hear news of heavily rumoured Sony A7S III, the Sony Vison-S futuristic prototype will feature the same CMOS sensors as seen in the Alpha series. Its CMOS image sensors will also be capable of distance measurement technology and in-cabin sensing solution for added safety.
Canon EOS-1D X Mark III
Canon unveiled their latest camera at CES 2020 – the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III. It’s 20.1MP sensor packs enough power for high AF, improvements to dynamic range and ISO sensitivity. With the Olympics and Euro Cup this year, the camera will be a much-welcomed addition for professional sports photographers.
Samsung Q950TS 8K QLED TV
Samsung presented an 8K QLED screen with high peak brightness, great contrast and deep colour saturation. The Samsung Q950TS comes with an innovative speaker system that compliments its high performing picture quality. And to top it all off, the design features an extremely low bezel taking up only 1% of the screen!
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold
There were early rumours about Lenovo bringing out a foldable gadget which got confirmed at CES 2020. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold is hailed to be the world’s first foldable laptop. Hitting the market this year, it features an OLED display with a 2K resolution which also supports stylus input.
Panasonic Introduces the HC-X2000, HC-X1500, and AG-CX10 4K Pro Camcorders
At CES, Panasonic announced they are adding the new HC-X2000, HC-X1500, and AG-CX10 4K Pro camcorders to their broadcast line-up. These lightweight cameras offer live streaming capabilities through each having built-in Wifi. They also feature image stabilisation, face detection AF and a wide 25mm, 24x optical Leica Dicomar zoom.
